Message from Sally

Sally wants everyone to know that she appreciates all of the texts and needs the encouragement! She is sorry that she just doesn't have that much time to reply to everyone!!!

How I wish I was there with you and little Bryson....I am thankful though that God is on the throne and He is caring for you even better than I could, His promises remind us that He is working the nightshift on Bryson's and Marissa's behalf...He is faithful. Are you absolutely CRAZY?
Maybe, but enjoying (almost) every second of it! God did not promise us a perfect and easy life. In the end, it is all about the "dash". And the dash has nothing to do with how many "things" we have collected along the way. My "dash" is far from perfect, but it is mine and I am sharing it with the most wonderful father and husband on earth who is just as crazy then as me!
Do you think you are Angelina and Brad?
No, actually Lauren is older than any of Angelina and Brad's children. So that means I heard my call earlier than they did! But more power to them for taking on a lifetime mission to raise precious children who otherwise would have no parents.
How did we come up with the name Bryson?
Two of my most favorite people in the world, my grandparents, last name was Bryceson! What an awesome way to keep them alive in our hearts! We will use his Chinese name as his middle name.
Why China?
Why not? There are over 15 million orphans in China alone. Chinese boys are rarely adopted because almost all have some sort of special need. Most people adopting want girls regardless of the country so that leaves many of the boys in Chinese orphanages instead of loving families. ...once our eyes are opened we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act.(Proverbs 24:12)
Why international adoption when there are so many children who need homes in the United States?
Well, we are already an international family with one daughter from Korea and another from Guatemala. And once you have spent much time in these countries, you realize that there is much bigger need in these developing countries than in our own country. Every child is deserving of a home, not just the ones from the United States. I do know that children in the US system will be fed their next meal, have their teeth fixed if needed, will receive an education regardless of whether they are in the foster care system or an adoptive family. I can not say that about China, Ethopia, Korea or Guatemala. It is safe for us to say after spending time two years ago working in the orphanage that Lauren was from that it changed our lives forever. We are passionate about making the lives of children better and it really doesn't matter where our next child is from as long as we are doing our part in this small world of ours to make it a better place.
What do the seven other brothers and sisters think about Bryson?
Lauren is excited to have another Asian in the family, but she is equally excited about maintaining her sole Korean title in the house.
Marissa prays for her little brother before each meal and at bedtime. She just wants to fix his little feet!
As for the older grown children, they have seen what a blessing Lauren and Marissa have been to our family so what is one more blessing?
Won't adopting another child take away from your current children?
No!!!! It teaches them to take care of others. It demonstrates our faith and that actions speak louder than words. "Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." I John 3:18. International adoption changes their "white world" to acceptance of diversity. We are all God's children! Each of our children are a gift and a blessing to us!
Will there be 9?
You can relax mom! Most likely not, but then again never say never! edited: most likely!
